I was lucky to count philosopher Maxine Greene as a teacher, mentor and friend. Through her talks at the Lincoln Center Institute, her books (especially Releasing the Imagination, and Variations on a Blue Guitar), the art and education salons at her 5th Ave apartment, and good conversations over wine and coffee I grew as an artist, as an educator, as a human.
Here is a tribute I produced for Studio 360 in the studios of WNYC a number of years ago.
